Most profile shops lose more time moving a part between a drill press, a vise and a deburrer than they lose actually cutting metal. This 800mm center closes that loop. Load the extrusion once, lock it against a ground datum, and let the spindle handle drilling, milling, tapping, chamfering and end-face squaring in a single cycle — with the same program repeating part 1 and part 1,000 without drift.

It isn’t a steel VMC dressed up with aluminum tooling. The bed, spindle curve, feed logic and chip path were specified for 6061/6063 extrusions from the start: high rpm, low force, fast swarf evacuation, and clamps that hold thin walls without crushing them.

FAQ

Can it cut steel or stainless?

It is optimized for aluminum and PVC/light alloys. Occasional mild-steel thin parts are possible with correct tooling and reduced feed, but it is not a steel machining center.

Is 800mm enough for long curtain-wall profiles?

For full-length 6m mullions, no — those need a long-stroke profile center. But for machined nodes, end details, brackets and short sections, 800mm is ideal.

Can it tap threads?

Yes. Rigid tapping is optional depending on control system and spindle.

How hard is it to learn?

A new operator can run standard hole/slot jobs after short video training. Complex 3D milling needs CAD/CAM experience.
