The 1600mm Horizontal Insulated Glass Washing and Drying Machine is a critical component in modern insulating glass unit (IGU) production lines. Designed for continuous industrial operation, it processes flat glass panels up to 1600mm wide through a fully automated sequence of washing, rinsing, and drying stages. The result is a perfectly cleaned and completely dried glass surface, ready for immediate assembly into sealed IGUs.

How It Works
Step 1: Loading and Conveyance
Glass panels enter the machine via motorized rubber-coated rollers. A variable frequency drive controls the conveyor speed from 2 to 10 meters per minute, allowing synchronization with upstream and downstream equipment.
Step 2: Pre-Wash Stage
High-pressure water spray loosens and removes loose particles, dust, and light surface debris before the glass enters the brush section.
Step 3: Main Wash with Brushes
Soft nylon roller brushes rotate against the glass surface while warm water mixed with a mild detergent is applied. The brush pressure is adjustable to accommodate different glass thicknesses and coating types. For Low-E glass, reduced pressure settings prevent coating damage.
Step 4: Fresh Water Rinse
Clean water rinses away any remaining detergent residue and suspended particles. A separate deionized water rinse stage is available as an optional upgrade for applications requiring zero mineral deposits.
Step 5: Air Knife Drying
High-pressure air knives positioned above and below the glass strip away all surface moisture. The blower speed and air temperature can be adjusted to match production speed and ambient conditions.
Step 6: Output to Next Station
Dry, clean glass exits the machine ready for inspection, spacer application, and pressing into finished IGUs.
Control System
The machine is equipped with a Siemens or Mitsubishi PLC controller paired with a color touch-screen HMI. Operators can:
